Its basically all in this photo.

I'm so nuts about snakes and Anubis, this photo is a combo explosion of awesome. Jealous! :'D Nice.

So am I! She's the biggest I've held yet, and she was quite heavy! Thanks for the comment! <3

I remember holding a python at a reptile show (or pet store show, don't remember anymore, I was little). Pythons are made of pure MUSCLES. And snake scales feel so extremly smooth in general. People who say snakes are slimy like worms never held snakes.

Also the python started to have a pretty strong hold on me, and the owner scared me (for fun) by saying it had been long since it'd been fed. SO I QUICKLY RETURNED THAT HUGE REPTILE AND WENT SOMEWHERE ELSE aha.

Oh yeah they're super soft and smooth, I try to convince everyone to at least pet a snake once. People's views on snakes are super distorted, and as with everything in life, I feel the more you understand something, the less you fear it. Snakes, spiders, bats, wasps, doesn't matter. The more you know, the less you fear.

Hahaha, yeah this burmese python was SUPER sweet, didn't constrict on me much at all. Which is good, cause she could have easily coiled me. I've been bitten before too, by many many hatchlings (which you cant even feel, its kind of cute) and by an adult royal/ball python. She was blind though from years of improper shedding, and I had her around my neck while grading some papers (I was a TA). She went into my shirt, and it scared me, so I jumped, which scared her, and she bit the top of my breast. I'd describe that as like the pain of two piercings... but just, not on your ears. Thankfully she wasn't too big. I've read on how to handle bigger bites... but that still isn't something I hope to go through

Seriously, how could you not smile your backside off with a snake like that wrapped around you! :D

My thoughts exactly! :D Also thanks for the follow!

        You're welcome! :)

      • Link

And the same to you, of course! :) i hope you enjoy what i put up :) It's mostly work done for me by others, but there is also the odd little bit of writing, which i do hope you might enjoy, if you read :)

        • Link

I do really like your robot-snake-geisha so far! I'll have to go check out the writing, I do love reading stories. But I'm sure I'll enjoy what you put up!

          • Link

Thank you! :D She's sort of a generic lizard more than a snake, but the rest is right giggles :) The other writing isn't uploaded here, but http://www.furaffinity.net/view/10732298/ has it as .odt and .epub :) That bit is actually a part of a book which is currently going through editing, but these two chapters work surprisingly well as two separate short stories... it wasn't planned that way, but somehow it turned out to work :)

            • Link

Oh that's really cool! I'll have to check it out! And haha sorry yeah I assumed snake from the small glimpses I got of her
Also is there any reason behind your icon? I quite like that one too

              • Link

i look forward to hearing what you think! :D giggles Don't worry about it, that happens :) Anthro snakes and anthro lizards are, i guess, fairly similar in shape ;)

The icon is my fluffy self (a silly mix of wolf, cat and skink) wearing a costume of Birdie, which is a character which... sort of happened a while ago :) He is a belly dancing bird, and at one point the opportunity came up to get a piece made showing it this way, so i jumped at it - fluffy me being, basically, me... wearing a costume of someone who is more a fictional character... it seemed to make sense at the time, and, i guess, basically still does ;) The original is http://www.furaffinity.net/view/6121872/ and the character with some more background is https://www.weasyl.com/character/36385/birdie :)

                • Link

Yeah! I'll definitely let you know! Sorry I've been a bit busy with college and what not. And yeah that's a fair point actually

Oh man! Belly dancer males are the besssssssssssssssssssst. And interesting combination for your sona, gotta say.

                  • Link

Oh not to worry giggles we all get busy :) For me, for example, this happened today ;) http://kath-leinir.blogspot.co.uk/2014/11/only-tangentially-related-to-stars.html

Eeh thank you! :D giggles just with the culture the character inhabits, he does take on a female role, so it's more like a female belly dancer... just with a male body :) Thank you most kindly, too! i do like things being a bit interesting :) Even if it sometimes takes a fair few years to reach that point ;)

                    • Link

Oh wow :O Yeah i spose you'd be quite busy too with that

Interesting! I like the idea of that too. Yeah that brings me to another point, why did you choose that combination? I'm curious

                      • Link

Yes, it was quite a day - it's not every day you launch a project you've been working on for six months :D

Now, that combination is actually something that happened because i gave the look of the character to the person who did the picture linked to in that description, and they did the artwork and put Birdie and my better half into that world in a way which made canonical sense... so it wasn't so much something i came up with this time as something which simply rang true :) The gender of the character was defined after picking the costume and the occupation, however... Birdie, basically, developed over quite a few years, so... Started as a mask, gained a body, gained wings and basic clothing, lost the first set of wings and gained a new set of wings and more elaborate clothing during EuroFurence's 1001 Nights themed convention, and a couple of years later joined Wovstah's world through that drawing being made :) So... Sort of a "character happened" sort of situation ;)

                        • Link

Yeah no kidding! Must've been exciting!

Oh, neat! Though I didn't mean for birdie, I meant the combination of animals for your sona

                          • Link

                            Scary, but exciting, yes :D

giggles Aah, i see now! :) Well, for fluffy me, i'm afraid it's a similar story of randomly growing a character... it just ended up making sense that way :)

                            • Link

That's how all important things in life seem to be!

Ahhhh I see -nods- very cool

                              • Link

It does seem that way, yes :) Our wedding certainly was like that too :)

Oh how cool~ For me it seems starting college is that way haha @-@

Keep on it, it's time and effort well spent :)

Thank you! I took a few years off and did some work after high school, now I think I'm ready for it, but at the same time its definitely nerve wracking lol

                                      • Link

i did something similar, and then went back to get a proper education :) Both were a good thing :) Hehe, yeah, it's certainly not easy, but then, if it were it wouldn't really be worth that much, right? ;)

                                        • Link

Yes that's very true! If there's one thing I live by its that "everything that was ever worth a damn took time"

                                          • Link

that is indeed a good quote :)

Thank you, it was from an old comic I read once

It does ring a bell, but i can't place it ;)

                                                  Octopus pie I think?
                                                  I can't remember

Hmm... Not where i'd have heard it, that one's new to me :) Hardly matters though, i guess, good quote anyway ;)

                                                      Very true!
So hey whats up in your world?

                                                      • Link

More writing ;) i've begun work on book two, waiting for my editor to get back to me on book one, working towards wrapping up the Calligra Gemini project at work (the one i linked to before, if you want to see it in action there's a link to an article on the Dot in that blog entry which has videos in it) :)

                                                        • Link

Awesome! I'll check that out, and it sounds like your creatively busy! Which is arguable one of the best busy ways to be

                                                          • Link

Very much so! :D i'm both scared and excited to hear what the editor has to say about it, but... probably more excited ;) largest work i've ever done - did short stories and the like in the past, though perhaps nothing as elaborate as Geiko Eien Ni, but never tried to do a novel properly before. 160,000 words in about two years :)

                                                            • Link

Wow that's some staggeringly good work time o-o I sort of half still have a novel I was working on, but life got busy, and I lost all motivation for it

                                                              • Link

It's one of those things where you, not unlike other types of art, just have to keep on it :) i spend something around an hour or two each night-before-a-week-day, at least with the document open and considering it... it keeps me on track :) i do this in bed (which is where that picture at the end of the blog post came from ;) ), and it works very well :) It's sort of a case of choosing your battles - i do writing (whether it be code or prose) and that's the trick... i have stopped trying to do visual art of any real kind, you have to just sort of focus on... what you have energy for :)

                                                                • Link

Interesting point! And currently I'm running a Shadowrun campaign, so I have to work all week at that, writing the script and making encounters and such... so maybe that's why I'm not creating much of anything else anymore

                                                                  • Link

                                                                    • Link
