I once met an enchanting bird
While all around us nothing stirred
She watched me and I watched her
When something wonderous did occur

She began to sing a lovely song
And though the moment was not long
Loud and clear the tones did ring
Before she suddenly took wing

I never met the bird again
Although I searched in vain
Hearing echos of the rhapsody
Haunting memories of her melody
