Howler by Darkness Falls

Howler

Darkness Falls

Last night, almost a year after downloading it, I finally got RPGMaker VX Ace to work! Which means all my demented creativity can finally come out to play!

Actually, I've had thoughts of making a game since I was still in school, but it's taken this long for me to get around to it. I don't know how many of my ideas are going to be feasible in game terms, but we'll see what we can come up with. If nothing else, I've got plenty of material to work with, so I'm sure some of it will work out.

Anyhow, this is the graphic I mocked up for Howler. He's the main character, newly come of age, about to go out with his tribe's hunters for the first time. Excuse the small pic and strange fuzziness; apparently RPGMaker likes its character avatars to be 96x96 pixels, and I had to blow it up to 16x size to get it this big.

Suggestion: In GIMP, try converting your image to Indexed and THEN blow it up. It should keep all the pixels in line pretty accurately. Other programs should be able to do the same, but I've only ever used GIMP for image editing.

Done! That's much clearer! I didn't know about that - thanks for the tip!
