When everything you do is pointless. There is nobody who is appreciative of what you've accomplished and the good things you've done for them. They always focus instead on your faults and the things you didn't do rather than the things you did well or benefited them. You're minding your own business and doing what you feel you ought to, but then get wind of all the negative views or reputation you've suddenly acquired from seemingly out of nowhere. You start to learn of all the reasons people hate you and why they've hated you for years now and then realize that all those reasons are falsehoods and just simply not true. But it is too late, you can't prove them wrong. Your image is damaged and you can't hope to reclaim what positive status you lost overnight without even being aware of it. No matter how hard you try, it just isn't good enough. The world doesn't change and will leave you behind in the dust and forget you long before you're even gone. It's a relentless march onward where nothing but the big sad can end it. These days, you feel it might be better if you just simply weren't around and everyone else's lives would be better off for it. Because why stay when it feels everyone despises you?
