Natalia Ruyemov and Mikhail Joan were soldiers from two vastly different countries. However, after they separated from their respective militaries, they went into private contracting as mercenaries. They came together during this time period and grew close, almost like family. They found that they worked well together. Mikhail was the highly trained operative that drew all the enemy's attention to him - he could take the brunt of their wrath since he was trained to avoid it. Natalia would use his diversion to slip in like an assassin and slit the throats and gut villains through without them being the wiser. After it was all over, none of their targets knew she was even there, since Mikhail has done his job so well. A deadly duo they were and they continued their partnership for decades after.
