One misconception I've found with some fans is that Taylor is averse to killing. That's actually not true. What she is averse to is Ahya eating people, especially when Taylor is not ready for the end result or doesn't want to kill. However, she will fight to the death to defend herself or the ones she loves. Even in fits of rage or extreme emotional distress, her instincts can get the better of her and she'll do whatever necessary to make the cause of her immediate anguish stop, even if it means using Ahya to finish it. She is an older teenager, after all, on the cusp of adulthood - still riding on emotional highs of her volatile upbringing and past. Her extreme decisions will almost always be in the moment, without much forethought to the lasting consequences. As flawed as she is, she will still stand up for what she believes is right and to protect herself and her loved ones. If you stand in her way oppositionally, she will not hesitate to do what's necessary.
