Ari was the break-out star of my first book amongst my beta readers. This surprised me since I honestly didn't expect this much of a positive response to my primary villain of my first book. She is cunning, she is manipulative and most of all, she has justifiable motive and a personality to boot. The fact she has an odd power-set that contrasts her reptile nature only serves to stand her apart as a character. She has the ability to manipulate any earth she is in contact with within a certain radius from her and liquefy or set it on fire as needed in combat. She is extremely lethal and deadly, but can be reasoned with as long as it coincides with her objectives. I need to be careful going forward with book 2 onward or she might overshadow Taylor herself! As one beta reader put it: A fantastic villain!
