Sometimes, when I'm very lucky, I have strange dreams featuring huge, beautiful birds you couldn't find in our waking world. This is one such creature.
I was out at dusk, walking through a massive, pine tree-filled forest. After walking for quite a while, taking in the beautiful cool blues of the evening, I came to a clearing with a huge lake at the center. At the middle of the lake, still in the air, hovered a massive ibis, its beautiful rainbow feathers radiating against the blue scene before me. I instinctively knew it to be the guardian of this forest. The bird gently alighted in the lake, one foot after the other.
