Whenever I commission artwork to be done of my character I always tell every artist the same thing: There is no ref sheet! I provide a description of the character's personality, likes, dislikes, and demeanor and let the artist show me what they see in their mind's eye. My only requirement is that he must have on his kilt :P And so every piece comes out a little different, but I really enjoy seeing how each artist envisions what this lil' jackalope looks like.

I was particularly intrigued by how this one turned out. Umeko is a good friend of mine over Skype and having seen some of her work, I was very curious what her interpretation of Daedalus would be like. She was the first artist to give him hair and I love the braid! In my opinion it's one of the better pieces that she's done.
