This is one of my oldest OCs, her design and story have been all fucking over the place for years but I think I’m finally starting to figure something out. I can’t reveal too much but I’ll talk about her!

This is DeMel Mendez.

DeMel is a talented, laid back, incredibly sweet girl, but socially awkward and very shy around people she’s not familiar with. She has a lot of time on her hands as the universe around her has crumbled to a near deserted state and gotten stuck in an otherworldly loop that has her and everyone else in the world living through the same several months or so for who knows how long. She has no idea this is happening.

Living inside her are two “”demons”” that have been with her for as long as she can remember. When she was very small she named them Shadow and Blade. I’m gonna talk more about those two another day but, they’ve been her closest and only friends/family for all her life, they mean the world to her and she’s never seen them as anything but a gift. She shares absolutely everything with them and never hesitates to go to them for comfort or advice.

Again, her world is nearly deserted. Some sort of disaster took place, wiping out almost everyone and leaving cities and countrysides in ruin. Maybe it has something to do with how cold it always is, with so many loops taking place and messing with everyone’s internal clock, it seems much longer ago than it really was and no one can recall what exactly happened. As far as DeMel knows, it’s always been like this.

With not much else to do and other people a rare sight, DeMel has a lot of time to fill and, being a curious and ambitious person, does a LOT of exploring in the ruins, finding clothes and broken gadgets from apartment buildings and stores that have been long abandoned. She’s had the time to teach herself several instruments and how to repair electronics. She enjoys singing, tinkering, making crafts, and has amassed a collection of dyes for her hair. She always keeps the lime green strip though. That’s her favourite colour.

Don’t ask about her horns or tail, you won’t get an interesting answer. She’s had them for as long as she can remember, and doesn’t know why!
