Today, the Futures Collegiate Baseball League's Worcester Bravehearts introduced their mascot Jake the Lion.

The name "Bravehearts" refers to the brave men and women who serve in the police force, fire department, army, navy, air force, etc., and the city of Worcester is nicknamed "The Heart of Massachusetts". Geographically, if you look at a map of Massachusetts, Worcester is in the center. The name "Jake" is a slang term used to describe a good firefighter.
