AHL MAX Series Number 13 of 30: The Moose - Rochester Americans

The Moose debuted in 1979, not as the Amerks mascot, but as the mascot for a Rochester based radio station, WMJQ. However, '79 was when he also appeared at his first Rochetser Americans game. He had his first full season as the Amerks mascot a year later, during the 1980-1981 season. Rochester, New York has been a staple for AHL hockey, with the Amerks' 6 regular season championships, 16 Calder Cup Finals appearances, and 6 Calder Cup championships, all within their 6+ decade history in the league.
