Another character...well species rather, for my comic "Long Shadows" A horror fantasy.

Mantises are physical manifestations of fear or panic. They can detect fear and are attracted to it. Fear of the unknown is their most common appearance and they tend to hide by blending into their surroundings and leaping out at their victims. Most are paralyzed simply by gazing into their eyes. Not looking directly at them and using a bright light source usually deters them. Having the courage to face them is the only way to actually defeat them.

Sorry if this doesn't make a whole lot of sense. I'm so freaking exhausted! D:
