Samuel "Sammy" Wise, is the team leader for Team Light Bomb, which Burst and Rukey are also in. Sammy is a long-time friend of Burst who went to battling high school to follow him, though he'll never admit that. Sammy is a pessimistic computer nerd who has few friends and spends a lot of time on the Internet. He's obsessed with the idea of having "control" and being a good leader. He has recently realized that this is counter to his strongly ingrained homophobia, which he struggles to address constructively.

As a Shaymin, Sammy is particularly sensitive to feelings of love and gratitude. His identity is tied into the idea of responsibility, doing the right thing, and being a leader. But at the end of the day, he's still a 15-year old boy, and struggling to figure out what that means. Sammy can be bossy and a know-it-all, which alienates him from other people and fuels his pessimism. Despite always seeming annoyed by him, he is best friends with Burst, who's capacity for optimism and unconditional love makes him immune to Sammy's constant grumpiness. Sammy is very possessive of this love, which can cause him to act out in jealousy when Burst has other friends.

When I was in the PCA, he was one of my favorite characters, and I didn't feel like I got a good resolution to his, and anyone else's stories. I did finally decide to just do a soft reboot and leave some things behind just because of the level of entanglement with characters and players that aren't around anymore, so it's going to be a lot of fun redeveloping his story.
