Road Coyote

Crossdog367

Old art from 2010 with original commentary. The origin of Road Coyotes changed over the years, and a new character sheet for the species should be coming in 2021.

---
This guy is part of a 'species' called Road Coyotes. They (as they're named now) actually appear in the later Eras of Fae. While Road Coyotes are widespread and numerous, they are mainly descendant of the wayward lycanthropes (werewolves, weretigers, werehyenas) and live near various travel routes and ambush travelers and passerby to kidnap and/or ransack them.

Road Coyotes are not a single species, but rather a conglomeration of whatever happens to pass. Because of their mix-breed nature, their fertility is horribly low and they maintain their numbers by rather objectionable means. While different clans will have trends in body types and fur patterns, they generally tend to be very mixed. Looking at them, it's hard to tell exactly what species they originated from.

Most clans of Road Coyote posses some kind of magical ability, usually in the form of shapeshifting. Their weapons and garb are mainly a conglomerate of what they have stolen over years, and sometimes generations. Road Coyote technology is highly variant, and they can live in anything from completely nomadic societies to small villages. Their garb is usually simple and minimalistic.

Also holy shit how did I not draw for three months and actually get better?
