Vesurne is a wyvern-leviathan hybrid that spent much of his life from hatchling to young adult trapped in a large cavern beneath a keep, fed by prisoners of war and political dissidents. Fortunately, the crew of an airship freed him following the collapse of the kingdom and abandonment of the keep. He is basically a giant fire-breathing sky puppy.
