Chestnut carefully locked the door behind him as he entered his room, making sure he heard the click of the bolt sliding into place and shoving one of his hooves up against it to make sure it wouldn’t just open on him.

Kuri grumbled to himself, running a hand down his face before unwinding his used bandages. the goat demon dropped the fabric in a pile on his vanity as he stripped, slipping into some more comfortably soft pajamas. Chestnut pulled a cotton ball from his vanity and began to dab at his wound, prepping it for the night.

Chestnut paused and looked down at his day clothes, before he kneeled down, careful of his leg spikes, and dug into its pockets, pulling out a red, velvet coated ring box.

Kuri tossed himself onto his bed instead of finishing his bedtime routine, cuddling up on his hoard of pillows and stuffed animals, all gifts from Lucious, surrounding him, as he flipped open the box. Chestnut glanced down at the snake ruby and gold ring settled snuggly in the cushion of the ring box.

“C’mon, you coward...it needs to be perfect; he deserves so much better than you, you need to make this perfect...”

Chestnut rubbed his eyes, ignoring the slight stinging in his arm. “Luci...Lucious...” Kuri mumbled the name into his pillow, burying his face into a stuffed animal. “Please don’t realize that I’m not anywhere near good enough for you, the prince of hell for god’s sake! and me? a scared, failed excuse for a teacher? a little boy who threw a fit when he got dumped?” tears slid into Chestnut’s eyes as he insulted himself.

The satyr demon bit his lip and quickly shut the ring box, shoving the box under his pillow and quickly standing up, nearly catching his leg spikes on his bed, but managing to avoid that. Chestnut stepped back over to his vanity and picked back up his discarded cotton ball and started to dab at his now weeping wound.

Kuri's having a hard time, relationships are hard for him, but damn does he love Lucious
Like it didn't matter to him at all before, but the prince of hell?? marrying a little goat boy?? Chestnut can 100% not see that, he's so scared of Lucious just laughing in his face and breaking up with him
