Arctic Fox irritably picked at her nails.

“there you are!”

The fox hero refused to acknowledge the other hero when he landed, but he knew she has noticed him, with the way her ears perked. “what are you doing up here all alone, foxy?”

Arctic Fox grumbled and only shot Hawks a glare out of the corner of her eye, which in response to the other just smiled at, as she actually looked at him. “you want some company, baby girl?”

“oh for the love of-!” Arctic Fox started, her tail twitching in annoyance. “why can’t you just leave me alone! I don’t like you!” she seemed to deflate when she said that, curling her arms around herself. “I’ve been nothing but rude to you since we met, why are you following me? why are you so interested in bugging me?”

Hawks narrowed his eyes, the yellow color glinting in the cold night air. “who have you been talking to that put those things in your head?” the winged hero asked, moving closer and putting a thumb against Arctic Fox’s chin so he could tilt her head up to actually look at him. “Bee, talk to me, please...”

“does it matter?” Arctic Fox grumbled, her tail quickly whapping against the roof they were stationed on. “why can’t you just leave me alone? I don’t like you! I never have! you could have anyone you want, so why are you following me around?!”

Arctic Fox poked a finger into Hawks’ chest, her eyes fierce. “I just want you to leave me alone for once, get your own work done!” Hawks’ eyes searched her face, and Arctic Fox turned away, her fur bristling. “just leave me alone...” she mumbled out.

“if that’s what you want,” Hawks said after a moment, and Arctic Fox flinched. “tell me though, who said I’d want anyone but you?” Hawks urged, making Arctic Fox swing her head to look at him, her eyes wide and confused.

“why wouldn’t you want someone else?” the fox hero grumbled. “I’m just some small town hero who you happen to become enamored with for some reason! I’ve seen the people you’re usually around, and I’m not nearly as pretty as any of them-”

“I think you’re beautiful,” Hawks interjected, lifting his visor so he could look at Arctic Fox fully. “I think you’re the most beautiful person I’ve ever met, Bianca.”

Arctic Fox suddenly curled her hands into the other’s jacket and pulled him to her fiercely, smashing their lips together in a rather painful kiss, for all of a second until she tried to pull away, but Hawks enclosed her in his wings, an arm snaking around her waist, not allowing the fox hero to slip from his side and run away as she had intended.

Hawks’ other hand moved up to Arctic Fox’s face, tilting her jaw so he could give her a kiss of his own, deeper this time. Arctic Fox gasping, which allowed him to shove his tongue passed her teeth. a rumble of pleasure leaking from Hawks and into Arctic Fox.

“I want you,” Hawks breathed once they parted. Arctic Fox shivered, even though the cocoon that the bird hero had made of his wings provided her with plenty of warmth against the cold night breeze. “I don’t care what anyone else thinks, I want you, Bianca. I want you and only you. please don’t shut me out.”

Arctic Fox’s ears flicked and she hid her face in the man’s fluffy collar. “dumb...” she mumbled, her face flushed hot and her tail twitching. “bird brain...”
