Azrael is a young Seeker, the child of three mothers and the fourth of seven sisters (albeit just barely - she is only a day older than her next-youngest sister, Raziel.) All three of her mothers were employed at a prestigious Cybertropolis university, where her mother taught xenomythology - though they all shared a specific interest in Earth mythologies, which was reflected in the names they chose for themselves and their offspring.

Azrael happened to be given the name of an Angel of Death.

The irony wasn't lost on her when she grew up to become a nurse.

After the Fall begins with the end of the world, with Azrael caught - as she always seemed to be - squarely in the middle of things. And when the Vehicon drones arrive, and breach the hospital's barriers, she opts to take the fight to them in order to give her friends, coworkers, and patients a chance to escape - and dies in the attempt.

Or so she thinks. Someone isn't letting her go that easily...

The question is, why?
