Khajiit fursuit animatronics (critique requested)

CosmoSnowmew

A couple of months ago Faruku (www.farukucostumes.co.uk) asked me how hard it would be to add moving (animatronic) ears to a resin-base fursuit head. Well... this is the result!

Two Etronix 6g micro R/C servos move the ears via a mechanical linkage. Both ears can move independently, giving a wide variety of expressions. A PIC18F1220 microcontroller is located on a small circuit board in the muzzle and controls the servos based on the input from a few switches. The power and switch harnesses connect through a pair of wire-to-wire connectors in the neck. These connectors are small enough that they don't cause a nuisance, but large enough to be robust, secure when mated and easily disconnected.

The circuitry is interfaced to the wiring with miniature (JST) connectors, which allows it to be easily disconnected and removed from the head for repair, replacement or upgrading.

This video and all the resin, fur, foamwork and airbrushing is Faruku's work. I only did the electronics.

Thats really impressive, indeed! Neat to see moving ears like that, as it certainly does give the possibilities for many expressions, especially with the moving aw also. :D
