Anyway this was a blast to draw and I'm so happy to finally see it complete! :D This is my BIGGEST ych yet! And I'm super pleased with the result. The water texture was something totally new I tried, and I'm really happy with how it looks. Just used marker and watercolor brushes of varying sizes to try and mimic the lighting that a pool gets. Took 5ever, but totally worth!
Threw in some little 90's throwbacks, see if you can find them all! 8)

Hey catter! :D Thanks yea the water took forever! And I decided to go with a more 90's reminiscent hedge than a realistic one. I wasn't going for realism with this, it's more meant to have a light-hearted 90's vibe to it! I think attempting to paint out a bush would take away from some of that reference.

Oh man! There is so much going on here! Great work! I'm glad you decided to emulate the light refraction in the pool water. I can tell it took quite a while to get to look right. The scene is really expressive and colorful. This might seem like an odd compliment, but I like that the privacy hedge fence thing seems fake. It makes it seem like a wooden fence painted to look like a hedge and makes it cooler actually. It's all so fun looking whatever the case! I love the character as a floaty. Very cute.
