They don’t have a name yet.

They are from a planet that was conquered by the Horde. The population is largely affected by a disease that transforms them into beasts, sometimes sentient and sometimes not. The remainder of the population tries to push back by employing hunters.

Beast was one of those hunters, and were given a sword with ancient writing on it, to combat beasts.

What they didn’t know is that the sword was a cause of the disease, and the hunter would become a vector of its spread.

(spoiler: the sword is first ones tech and the beast plague was a first ones experiment. The writing says “Holy Blood”.)
