the tl;dr of the au is that it's a most-people-live style au (vigarde still dies, sorry bro, also might axe some of the other story bosses but ~who knows~) that also happens to have knoll be a former servant of fomortiis that lyon summoned and converted by virtue of being a sweetheart (this basically being the major catalyst for the events of the game not happening; knoll is still mostly the same character so he never directly stops lyon, but he has access to more information and his loyalty is such that he'd only let lyon make an informed fuck-up). most of the details aren't ironed out yet since the summarized version is still on the first couple of scenes but eh, excuse to draw my fave.

i should note that 90% of the time he still looks like he does in-canon, the only people who know he's a demon are lyon (duh), duessel, myrrh (also duh), and eventually ephraim. his monster class was created to be spies, so he has a fair degree of shapeshifting at his disposal.
