Happy Scarf Cat!
A lot more went into making this one than is probably obvious. It started with me finally making a Pixiv account so I could browse the site decently (a lot of really talented artists on there!). That got me all anime inspired (I've always been a fan of the bright colors and shiny, big eyes). So I sketched a chibi Scarf Cat in one of those fun, floating anime/manga poses. Then the day before I had gone and gotten about 50 new brushes for Sai, so when I went to color this I wanted to use some of those. Which lead to me shading it all wrong and having to start over. Which then led to me looking at about a dozen Sai tutorials that were very helpful and allowed me to finally make this the way I had been envisioning.
So it was a long journey from initial idea to this final picture, but I think it was worth it. I'm very happy with how this came out, and I can't wait to apply my new Sai skills to a non-chibi picture!
