October 2013: "One of my assignments at school was to closely study Walt Kelly's comic strip Pogo and copy it as close as possible to make three original, autobiographical strips of my own. Obviously I'm not as skilled an artist as Kelly was, but I think I did an OK job and the assignment was fun. I learned a lot about using a nib, although I still hate lettering by hand. I'm so bad at it! Aside from a little bit of clean-up and resizing, these three strips were done with traditional materials: pencil, pen nib, and brush pen.

And yes, they are all based on true events.

Starring (in order of appearance): an Australian friend represented by a platypus, myself as a hyena (since Kelly never drew straight up humans for Pogo), and my cats Gil and Hana."
