The spruce grouse: a bird with about a dozen feather patterns, enormous feet, and bright red lumpy eyebrows on the males.
This was an entry for the Species XChange, a long-discontinued event in which I used to participate. Every month, each participant would choose a species, get randomly assigned a species chosen by someone else, and draw themselves as that species. It was a lot of fun, and I was quite sad when it stopped. Of my own entries, this is still one of my favorites.
