I'm not sure where I've visualized this cherry-red landscape, but yeah, I've conceived it before, and it's a place... despite having been eroded away by violent sandstorms is strangelly slient, rather peaceful, and it's not dangerous either (which doesn't mean he's letting down his guard as can be seen holding his knife) he just needs a short nap and then to continue his journey.

Yes, that's a sarape/jorongo, but obviously not a reference to what you know, and for the record, I am Mexican...
I plan to add that sarape to his outfit whole, even if it comes off whenever he's going to fight.
