"If Sot hadn't been rescued by Pilot, things would have played out much differently. He would have made his way out of the lighthouse one way or another, certainly. What would have happened afterward is the true question. Sot was born and raised in the lighthouse, and though he had ventured outside now and then, he never left the general area of his home. What lay beyond the bluff which the lighthouse stood on was a complete mystery to him. So what would there have been left for him then?

He would have run away. No longer wanting to see the place which had been his family's home, and which eventually became their tomb, he would have fled for as long as his legs could carry him. Where to? There are few settlements between his old home and the more populated territories. Alone and afraid, it is uncertain if he would have survived for long out in the wilderness."
