Do you hate flying? Do you hate surrendering your safety, hundreds of feet into the air, to an inanimate vehicle? We at Shadoxian Airlines have the solution for you! Enjoy the care and comfort provided by our leading (and only) aircraft, Charem the planedragon!

But what's a planedragon, you may ask? We at ShadAir have engineered a trustworthy mix of animal and machine, employing the strength and durability of an eastern dragon (the 'Shadoxian', as it is known) with the comfort and efficiency of a jumbo jet! We may not be the first to engineer a planedragon, but rest assured: ours is certainly the flabbiest!

...Er, roomiest! That's a better word.

Enjoy the comfort of our spacious passenger compartment, and rest assured that the rear cargo hold has plenty of room to store your luggage - and even pets! - in. As for crash risks, we've enjoyed a 0% failure rate with Charem's service, as we keep our plane fed and healthy. Unlike normal jets, which run purely on expensive jet fuel, planedragons like Charem possess the ability to consume many things for fuel...cutting our costs, and saving you money on seating prices!

So don't delay! Come fly with CSA today! The safest* airline in the world!

*CSA is not liable for any passengers, luggage, pets, or other belongings somehow ending up in the fuel compartment. By flying with us, you agree to forfeit such rights. Still, we - and especially Charem - thank you for your fueling services in the event of this most-assuredly RARE occurrence.

Ahh, this picture. <3 This is entirely my art...and one of the best things I've drawn ever, I feel. ^^ I had quite the inspiration.

Planedragons are a creation by   scpkid! Last year, they got quite the following on Twitter, and everybody ended up having one it seemed! My good friend   imperfectflame got very big into the event too, and it quickly spread to my interest from there. I wanted to draw my own! But...

One problem I had with planedragons (and perhaps, the reason the planedrag hype died off after a while, if I could guess) was that - most people styled them the same way. Anthro dragons, relatively-simple design, then, add on some plane wings, engines, etc. I didn't HATE these designs at all, but a lot of them ended up a little too similar to each other. From the majority of people, I wasn't seeing a whole lot of individuality.

Which, in a way, only helped inspire me more.

See, I'd wanted a dragon form for a while. A big 'ol eastern dragon, but one so fat that the usually-slender, snake-like body of an eastern was 'lost' on me. Fat easterns - they look a lot more western-dragonish, aside from the HUGE 'ol tail they sport at that point. I love that. <3 I wanted that.

That's what led to me drawing...this. :3 The result of what a shadox can look like when shifted into a dragon form...then fitted with aero-parts. Instead of the standard anthro design for planedragons, I went feral. The benefit was obvious: I could hold passengers far better when my body is held horizontally...which led me to choosing to be a passenger jumbo jet for my plane details. That only helped enforce a tubby frame (had to live up to the word 'jumbo', after all!)

I had a ton of fun drawing this. Experimenting with a sketchier style was fun, and the coloring technique actually saved me a ton of time over 'cleaner' styles. The internals/schematics view was sort of a last-minute idea, but even that came out pretty nice; I had lots of fun writing point-by-point descriptions of my inner-workings~

Planedragons have sort of died down at this point; for many who had one, I think it was just a fad. But make no mistake; this is not a form I'm about to just discard. While I may use some forms more than others, and while I do take breaks from using characters, I do not create something only to abandon it later. ;3 There's so much potential in planedragons that I still want to tap into. (And have, too! I got more pics to share later...)

So...come fly with me? <3
