Guardian Forces are pretty powerful creatures! They can unleash a lot of massive, spectacular attacks, and often look as fierce as they are; as such, GFs are generally held in high respect and regard.

But not every GF is created equal. Looking at them, you wouldn't expect such small and adorable creatures like Carbuncles to be GFs. Heck, they don't even have an attack; simply a very-useful defensive ability, since they know how to cast Reflect on a whole party. It fits with their nature; they tend to be far more gentle than the average summon~

However, they can still be...mischievous. This Moomba seems to have stumbled into a whole family of forest-Carbuncles, mysteriously-well-fed ones at that! They're sure cute, but they seem to be rather interested in swarming around the poor lion-creature...and nibbling him all over!

Hmm, maybe they're not as innocent and harmless as they look... :O

This was a collab I did waaaay back with   karserus! I forget the original reason we did this; I believe it was just a whim I had that Kar wished to support. I've always liked Moombas and Carbuncles, they're some of the more forgotten-about Final Fantasy creatures, and I do love working on projects involving critters that others may have overlooked. <3

...It's funny to look back on my older collabs like this one (I have quite a backlog to post), and just compare my coloring skills from back then to now. I really have come a long ways!

And if you haven't, go play Final Fantasy 8 sometime! It's hardly the best Final Fantasy game, but I sure still enjoyed it, These critters are from it too~
