Oh me oh my! I somehow ended up in a closed room that had a few gas canisters stored in it. And they were all hissing dangerously, indicating a gas leak! :O

Naturally it's a horrible idea to breathe in most any gas, especially in large quantities. So I did the only thing I could do - holding my breath! Clamping my jaws shut, I locked my teeth together and kept my nostrils closed. I had to hold out till some help arrived...

But I had forgotten that...holding one's breath works a bit...differently for Charmeleons! See, in addition to breathing like any normal animal, we can also breathe through our tailflame. The flame, like any fire, absorbs oxygen from the air to keep itself alight. But some of that oxygen also goes into a Char's body, making the flame act as a third lung. A lung that you can't turn off...and can't 'exhale' from!

I was reminded of all this when I noticed my body begin to expand outward... I needed to exhale to reduce the build-up of oxygen and carbon dioxide, but that would put me at risk to the gas again...I had to just...bear it!

Swelllll...! Bulllllge...! I wobbled about as I grew, my tailflame only seeming to grow hungrier and hungrier for more oxygen. The large room thankfully had quite a bit in it, meaning I would not asphyxiate...but I currently had MORE than enough air... @_@
