[b]- Pokédex Entry Start -

Steameleon
The Steam Pokémon
Type: Fire/Water
Height: 3'03"
Weight: 42 lbs

On land, this Pokémon can puff out incredible flames or torrent out cold water. Combining the two creates streams of boiling water, which can badly scald opponents; the steam created from this also makes a thick mist that allows it to hide from or evade its opponent better, important considering its movement on land is only semi-agile. However, using both fire and water at once taxes the Steameleon greatly, so this is done sparingly.

Underwater, it can superheat the water to revitalize itself. Its purple fire, of a more ethereal element than normal flames, can burn even under the waves, allowing it to sprout huge water-proof flames which glow brightly and light up everything under the water. The Steameleon is more in its element underwater, able to dart and swim about with artful balance and direction thanks to its combination of webbed feet, thick tail, and numerous fins. Its tail, being sizable, also serves as an excellent weapon to slap with. Its cheek fins are particularly sensitive and can sense an opponent's location based on waves and vibrations the opponent causes.

Mizuko had done it again...!

The male Vaporeon always had the talent to mingle his body with another Pokémon's, his liquid form able to absorb the two together into a mix of species. I had done it with him before, in fact. And while there was nothing at all wrong with a mix of Vaporeon and Charmeleon, the form didn't 'click' with me, and I had him reverse the merge soon afterward. He was disappointed that our form hadn't been to our liking, but strangely, he also seemed rather...determined.

Which came down to the day he returned to me, a somewhat-confused Mudkip held fast in the grip of his grinning teeth. I was confused as much as the Mudkip, and even moreso as the Vaporeon bumped snouts with me, locking me into a kiss with him while also forcing the little 'Kip into my mouth! I swallowed instinctively and returned the unexpected kiss, blushing hard in confusion... But who was I to turn down a meal?

As the smaller water-type descended my throat, Mizuko broke the kiss and watched. "Now..." he spoke up as the meal settled in my stomach. "We can begin!"

I was caught off-guard as my Eon friend pounced up, his form already beginning to run about in mid-air as he turned into his liquid-self! A splash of semi-water hit me directly afterward, and I shivered as his cold watery self drenched me completely. "Wh...this again??" I remarked before the 'water' began to force its way down my throat, the mixture absorbing into my body through my scales as well as the more direct method of 'forced-drinking'!

I knew what he was about to do...merge him and I together, again. But we had done this before, and I had let him know it wasn't my thing...why did he think my opinion would be different this time?

As the Mizuko-liquid flowed into my belly, I could feel it going directly toand against the Mudkip I had eaten, undoubtedly absorbing even easier into the amphibian's smooth and slimy skin... It was then that I realized my meal was no random event - Mizuko intended to merge the Mudkip with us as well! The Vaporeon had -mentioned- how he could merge with more than 1 creature at a time, but I had never...experienced it!

I could feel my body going numb. I was beginning to liquidfy down, just as Mizuko was, and just as the Mudkip would soon be too... The merging was already nearly done...

...

My consciousness fluttered in and out as we became a mere puddle on the ground. Our minds, all three of them, were mixing... It was just as strange as when I had done it with Mizuko, only now there was a whole other mind to do it with!...

I, Charem, became we, the three. We, the three, became one...Chazukip. The name was pre-decided as an amalgamation of all three of our names. As the Mudkip side of me was simply a wild Pokemon, it had no name, and retained the root 'Kip'. The side of me that was Charem retained his 'Cha', and the Mizuko side of me retained his 'Zu'. We were now one, and I was now one - a mix of all three personalities.

And I...felt great! I looked over my finned, sleek form, shook my large dolphin-finned tail, felt over my slightly-slimy body... Part lizard, part amphibian... That's what I was now...a creature of both fire and water. I wriggled my webbed toes about, amazed with how my Kip-side, while so tiny, added so much to my body... It was MUCH different than being Chazuko...much more fun!

I sniffed the air with my slitted nostrils, picking up the distinct smell of saltwater not too far away. Ahhhh... I think it was time for a swim!

In real life...when it comes to water...I can't swim. I took swimming lessons when I was around 6 years old, but I literally ran away from the pool screaming, multiple times. While I have no problem with shallow water, if it's able to go over my head, I'm deathly afraid of it. You can partly tie this into my love for fire, and the fact that I'm a Charmeleon, since this is the opposing element to water.

But...I do like aquatic creatures. There's many beautiful animals that live underwater...both in real life and in Pokemon as well. On the Pokemon side of things, I've always though Vaporeon was just...THE prettiest Pokemon I've laid my eyes open. Not my absolute favorite (I think my favs are fairly obvious), but pretty dang up there!

Some of you may recall the 'alternate forms' question on the survey I created a month back. One of the forms I was thinking of creating was a 'water-type Charmeleon'. It got a fair number of votes, enough that I felt encouraged to pursue a drawing of such a form. I've wanted to for a while...as I said, I admire aquatic life.

I got to talking with my good friend :iconLustBubbles: about the topic. We discussed it for a couple hours, figuring out what would look good and what wouldn't. I knew I wanted the base body to stay 'Charmeleon', but then to deviate off of that as well... I had been in a merging TF picture with my other character, Mizuko the Vaporeon, before, but the result simply didn't appeal to me quite... I wanted to make sure that this time, my aquatic form would be that beautiful creature I imagined.

And of course, LB sketched out exactly what I'd been hoping for. <3 <3 What you see here...Chazukip the Steameleon!

I was originally going to submit this picture in a week or so, but something occurred last night that...well, I just had to submit it after what happened last night!

This is kinda amazing. I've been awake for a couple hours now, but I still remember my dream of last night vividly... I hardly ever dream these days, and when I do, it's usually a very bad dream. Good dreams are rare...and good dreams where I'm in one of my character's forms are even rarer.

As I said before...irl, I can't swim, and I'm afraid of water. So...this means that dreams featuring water usually consist of me drowning... Or perhaps even worse. A happy dream involving water...involving swimming...involving diving!...has never happened for me before. Until last night, of course.

I was in this form of mine...Steameleon...and I was apparently playing a game with other water-living Pokemon. Two soccer-like nets were set up on opposite sides of a lake, a blue net and a red net. Two balls, the size of volleyballs, also existed - a red ball and the blue ball.

It seemed to be a mix of Blitzball from FF10 and capture the flag! I was on the Blue team and my goal was to find the red ball and toss it into the Red team net. The Red team had the reverse goal - finding the blue ball and knocking into my net! Good thing we both had 'goalies' as well!

I say 'find' because the lake was also littered with an underwater obstacle course - part of it even jutted out of the lake adventurously, which required a fast swim and a good jump out of the water to clear! The two balls were hidden within the obstacle course and each team had to find their target ball and get it into the other team's net.

I don't remember too many specifics besides this...or even if my team won. But I do remember swimming around in the muted waves, bubbling noises and vibrations the only sounds as I snaked quickly and agilely through the course, the sunny sky sending streams of light into the drink. It was utterly exhilarating and...something I've never experienced irl. But strangely, it was very appealing...and almost makes me want to take up swimming lessons again. Who knows? ^__^

So yeah...I've rambled on long enough. Picture is credited to :iconLustBubbles: and the Pokedex entry is credited to my HPF friend Galen, who wrote it up after looking at my form. :note:
