Tea and Scritches - by EmuSal

While I've always been a scaly creature, I can most certainly appreciate the advantages of fur as well... Reed's fuzzy-soft lap was a wonderful place for a lazy Charmeleon to rest him...a bit small, perhaps, but I always did consider it very cozy! Plus, there was a more-than-likely chance the igwulf's equally fuzzy-soft paw would soon wander across my big belly, giving casual scritches to my sensitive front-side... Very, very relaxing scritches! Reed knew my 'special spots' as well...the points on my gut that simply SPARKED something when rubbed, leaving me with no choice but to kick my leg and purrrr rumblingly to channel the wonderful jolts of bliss that shot through my nerves!

Seeing me in such happiness would alone please Reed, the wonderful and giving igwulf that he is. But I don't mind me useful either...and my fiery tail has found many a use before. It was easy enough to allow my fuzzy friend to hold my tail under his tea, easily warming the ceramic cup up without it getting too hot for Reed to handle... The tea was soon steaming up a wonderful aroma of herbs, the lovely scent only helping to relax me further... <3

Spending a peaceful time with a close friend...I feel that there is nothing more rewarding than this. ^^

This simple but wonderful picture was drawn up by Reed around a month ago. <3 It is perhaps my favorite picture that he has drawn with me in it...because of how 'true' this image is to us. We are great friends, and if we were to meet, I would love nothing more than to be close to him like this. n..n I truly care about him a lot; he's one of the calmest and most rational people I've ever met, as well as being a wonderful friend.

I took so long in submitting this picture because I wanted to color it. However, I first had to darken the image as it was originally much lighter than what you see here. However, darkening the image to the point of where I could comfortably color it made it quite dark indeed in some places, and the lines lost their softness and became jagged. Reed didn't like it very much, and after mulling it around for a while, I agreed. Instead, I darkened the image much more mildly, simply to make it more visible from the original hue it was, which was a very light hue indeed. This version seems much nicer overall (though please tell me if you would prefer it lighter, Reed!).

It's too light for me to color, but ultimately...it doesn't really need color. It's an adorable picture, and plenty of character and moodsetting can be garnered simply by the sketchy but relaxed lines - adding color to the picture, even if it didn't mean darkening it, could adversely influence how the lines' 'mood' was reflected. In other words...I like it just fine in black + white, and I think it should stay there, because that's where it fits best. ^..^
