Pinkie Cake by ChaPowStudios

Pinkie Cake

ChaPowStudios

I did this in 2013 for my brother’s birthday. I really wanted to buy a MLP kit, but even though I knew they existed, there were none to be had in the area, no matter how many bakeries I checked at. So, instead of doing a cake with a toy on top, I just picked up a sheet of edible paper and cut Pinkie Pie out of that. I was probably too conservative with the sprinkles.

Ah, edible paper? I didn't know such a thing existed :o I thought the Pinkie Pie shape was made out of fondant! Either way, this looks super yummy :D Nice work! People seem to forget that cake decorating is an art in itself sometimes!

Yeah, it's a kind of rice paper. I found it at Michael's craft store. Thanks! ^_^

That made me think of Boton Rice Candy...probably because of the rice relation and it's edible o3o Ever had that stuff? It's AMAAAAAZING, and they usually have a sticker in the packaging too o3o And you're most welcome!

Yeah, but the local stores that carry Boton Rice Candy don't seem to go through their stock very quickly-it's always really stale! I wonder if it would be more fresh at a Japanese store, or if it's stupposed to be that hard??

Noooo, it's not supposed to be hard. You might have some luck with Amazon.. I haven't looked in a couple years, but they did have it in stock o3o

It really looks cute! Does the edible paper have a flavor to it? :)

      Not really. It's pretty bland.

I suppose if it's from rice paper (like the answer above) it probably is a bit bland. chuckle :)

I think it should taste like bubble gum.

That would be perfect for Pinkie Pie! :D
