Living Ghost by Cerih

Living Ghost

Cerih

I should be packing for my trip to Finland, but instead I got caught in an inspiration to draw some more. This beauty (if I may say so myself) is a rare Arabian leopard, a critically endangered sub species of leopards, with about 200 individuals left in the wild. I recently watched a documentary series called Wild Arabia and it seems these big cats are incredibly elusive, hence the title of the drawing. I hope they won't disappear forever.

I used a different shade of grey, warm grey II, and again added a bit of colour to the eye to really highlight it. I also played around with the contrast a little.

Art by me, reference photo from the Wild Arabia website.

Thanks! I kept thinking as I drew it that I should stop and go to bed, but I never quite managed it! I love the result, though, and it was worth being tired at work today. The trouble was, I was so psyched about having finished this that I couldn't get to sleep for ages because I was busy thinking about what to draw next. Insomnia is so not my friend... O_o

Haha that`s cool, none of my pictures ever had so much impact that it would keep me from sleeping for so long. =) But it`s really nice that you are so dedicated to your art ^^

More like just an insomniac who doesn't know when to stop... I'm still kinda psyched by my recent drawings and did some more drawing at the airport and in the plane yesterday. Now I'm home in Finland again and hope to do lots more drawing during my holiday! ^_^

OMG lol ^^ Oh nice, it must be pretty cool to live in Finland. I always wanted to go there.. but unfortunately it`s -compared to Austria- too expensive for me. So how is the weather up there...I guess not much different from here...we have tons and tons of snow ^^

Cool is definitely the operative word! ^_^ We have tons of snow still and the nights can be pretty cold - around -10 - but during the day it's sunny and warm. The warmest I've seen so far was 5 degrees. The snow is melting more every day, but there's a lot of snow to melt in the first place. :) I've just spent five days with my friend (hence no internet) and although we had tons of fun I didn't get a chance to do any drawing at all. Oh well, I have lots more time here, should the inspiration strike.

I`ve been gone over the easter vacation as well^^ It`s a good thing I`m back now, because spring is just coming! From one day to the other we had from -5 to 20 degrees...that`s really hardcore...and also gives you a massive headache ^^

Wow, that's quite a temperature deviation! It's not been quite so extreme here. There's still tons of snow left, even after weeks of sunshine and above zero temperatures. We went hiking this morning and any misstep away from the path had me sinking knee deep into snow.

XD That sounds like "fun"..well at least it seems like the snow would be gone for now. The last 2 weeks have been very relaxing .. with lots of sunshine and a bit of rain^^

It's suddenly got really warm in England and it was very enjoyable exercising the dogs this evening in just a t-shirt. Goodbye heavy layers of winter clothes!! :D

Yes I know what you mean ^^ But here it`s quite funny.... or not "fun" at all. During the week it has up to 27° , the sun is shining all day long....and on the weekends: rain, clouds and 20° XD

Yeah, wouldn't want people enjoying their days off in the sunshine and warm weather... O_o
