that lies desperately hidden
in the back of your mind

A random story in my head about a mermaid coming of age, and trying to figure out what she wishes to do with her life. So she leaves her home with nothing but a sword and her trusty crocodile hippocampus to do some good ol' fashion soul searching. Adventures ensue.
IDK. The story is more about the setting and atmosphere then the plot.

But seriously tho. Crocodile hippocampi. I'm so glad I accidentally invented this creature because I want to to include it in every story now.
