Pranay- The Artistic One

Cattick

Pranay-nay-nay. Honestly, one of the very few nagas I have based off of an actual snake. I ordered him as a custom from NeoAbyss-Adopts a while ago. I gotta say, I was rather excited to finally get to draw him. Something about the background is rather... sombering, isn't it?

The little fairy on his head is Isa, who's his girlfriend and maybe eventual wife. She's xxJyazzxx's character and we did a rather sweet rp with the two of them together. Let's see if I can be unlazy enough to actually write the rp into a narrative format below. Or at least see how far we can get.

A young male, who maybe only recently hit his twenties rested in the shade to beat the Summer heat. He laid sprawled on his back, with the water covering his serpentine tail. The trees above dappled dancing light on his face and a few of tiger keelback snakes that hung around him. They posed no threat, even if they were venomous. A fairy in a white dress fluttered around boredly, unable to think of ways to entertain herself. The heat of the day tired her down and she landed near the keelback naga, unaware of his presence to rest.
The naga was unbothered by the fairy moving through. He scratched his belly gently and shifted to lay on his side. He ate rather recently, and it only contributed to lazy state as he digested his meal. He was a rather small naga by the looks of things, so he wouldn't be going along scaring people with appearance. The fairy turned on her own side and managed to get a good look at the naga as she sat him. She blushed a little bit, finding her company to be rather handsome.
He must have felt the vibrations in the dirt because he slowly opened his eyes at them. He was a little groggy, but he sat up and rubbed his eyes. After a brief yawn and stretch he glanced around with slightly squinted eyes. He eventually catches sight of the fairy, her white dress contrasted against the blues and greens of the environment. He tilted his head slightly at her and brought his hand to his forehead and brought it out- almost like a salute. Her smile widened the moment the naga got up and looked at her.
"Salutations to you, too." she said, also doing the same gesture he was doing. "Do you speak?"
He looks closely at her mouth when she talked. He looked around him then grabbed a stick. In all capital letters, he wrote into the dirt-* "I-M D-E-A-F" *And when he was done he pointed at it for her to look at. He doesn't know his lowercase letters that well, so he left them alone.
After reading his message, she said "Oh, I'm so sorry."
However, thinking that he didn't hear what she said, Isa quickly borrowed the naga's stick and wrote in the dirt "Sorry about that."
The naga glanced at what she wrote. Once he received the message, he waved his hand and offered a smile to reassure her. After taking the stick back he wrote out, in all caps, "My name is Pranay. Yours?"
"Eye-ssah." she said, her mouth making more movements for him to understand. "And neat name."
Pranay smiled happily at her and used his hand to wipe the dirt clean. He wrote out, "Do you draw?"
"But of course." she grinned at the naga with enthusiasm. "Any particular request you'd like me to do?"
Pranay wiped the dirt clean again and wrote his request, "Draw with me?"
"Sure I will." Finding another branch to join him, Isa then said "So, what should we draw?
Pranay shrugged again and wrote, "Anything" before laying on his belly. He set to work almost instantly, but for the time being, he only drew random and almost meaningless lines. He'll get around to drawing something legitimate once he has a better feel for his media. A sweet smile on her face, the fairy started drawing a beautiful mermaid. The figure appeared to be busy, sitting on a large rock as she brushed her long and curly hair.
"That's my friend, Katie." Isa said. "She's very beautiful, and likes to be seen that way."
Pranay smiled widely and drew a few bits of sea life around Katie.
"You're quite good at this." Isa said as she watched him draw the starfish and shells.
Pranay used his hands to sign at her,

"Hm?" the fairy saw that he was looking at her in an affectionate way, making her laugh a bit. "What?"
He took the stick and wrote off to the side, "You're fun to draw with>
"Aww, you really think so?" Isa smiled, then wrote something in the dirt as well. "Thank you. ^v^"
"Are we friends?"
"But of course, Pranay." she smiled broadly. "Why would I not be?"
Pranay shrugged at her question, but he had a large smile for her nonetheless. The fairy then started to draw Pranay himself, detailing him quite carefully until she managed to capture his image perfectly.
"What do you think?"
Pranay gave a laugh in happiness. He may of never heard a laugh, but he knows he likes doing it either way. He tried to sign at her again.

With a big and funny smile, the fairy then said "Now you draw me.", poking his chest playfully.
He nodded and went over to a fresh patch of dirt and started drawing her. Pranay was more stylized in his art, but it still looked nice.
"Aww, you're making me jealous." she pouted playfully as she saw his picture of herself. "You've got more skills than I do."

She then smiled again when he said he liked the detail she did in his drawing. "Thanks."
Pranay curled up a bit as the sun settled behind the horizon, waking up the night. His tail came out of the water as his muscle contracted to coil up.

"I'll see you later, then?" she fluttered her wings, coming up to his height.
Pranay nodded and signed,
"I shall see you again next time." she said as she pecked his cheek before flying off over the forests.

Pranay was a bit shocked by her gesture. He lightly put his hand where she kissed him and turned a little red in the cheeks. He watched her go before resting his arms on his tail and his head on his arms. He managed to get to sleep after a few minutes and didn't wake until late the next day.

And I think that'll be it for the first part. I'm not sure if I'll update for any more.
