This picture is another old piece from about 2009

I had originally designed a whole backstory for Cid (my fursona) here but eventually scrapped it. It was sort of like a mix of "Plague Dogs" and "The Last of Us" where Cid and a handful of others are being rounded up by the government of a crumbling, post-apocalyptic society in hopes that experimenting on them may produce a cure for the devastating virus that destroyed most of this world.

Unfortunately these experiments are almost always fatal to the subjects, and Cid doesn't fancy himself as a sacrificial hero XD

While I liked this story, I ran into the problem of "why anthro?" over and over again. I like designing characters and settings that work with each other, and anthro characters just didn't seem to fit this particular type of story.

In the end I designed Cid as an avatar first and a character second and so I'm happy with him just being a fursona for now =3
