But his wifi-connected stove wouldn't turn on because of a storm blocking the wifi signal so he raged so hard he grabbed his sniperrifle and biked around (all cars are connected to the wifi and require a password, so he couldn't use those), assassinating various megacorp CEOs, thinking it would change the world for the better and break him out of his digital slavery.

ROOSEVELT '00s actions did not have any effect on those corporations because corporations are immortal for as long as you can replace their staff, which they all did and resumed operations like nothing ever happened. What did happen was that the corporate overlords began oppressing the serf class even further to prevent this assassination bullshit from happening again. They started to phase out physical cash, going fully digital, and began distributing subcutaneous IDs which are now required in order to possess a bank account. "No it is not a microchip stop being a delusional conspiratoid it is merely a subcutaneous ID administered via injection there's a difference haha. Believe science" said the new head of Amazon's pharmaceutical development department.

If you don't get the chip you don't get a bank account. If you don't get a bank account you don't get the money. If you don't get the money you have no manner in which to hold onto any representation of power and ability. You will rot. You will dissolve.

Another thing that changed was ROOSEVELT '00s legal status from civilian to felon so he got on his bike and frantically biked around avoiding the law until he hitched a ride on a clown cult corporate battleship. In outer space he finds a new career path. Jumping from one fleet to another he tries to distance himself from his legal embarrassments by removing himself from Earth society and integrating into Alternian society. ROOSEVELT no longer works for any RebelTerran corporate overlord but instead now works for the Alternian imperial military complex that conquers planets and destroys alien cultures.
