So here he is, I finally managed to get him finished! Working on this piece really helped me get over a few rough patches and was such a nice escape :3 Humanoid subjects are always a bit of a challenge for me as well but I think things turned out alright, even if it did take me AGES.

The theme of the trade is ancient, elder beings of great magnitude. I made a Giant in early-mid metamorphosis into a more sedentary stage, his living tissue being replaced with stone, sort of like fossilization :3 He's also started a symbiotic relationship with a lot of flora: being able to migrate avoiding shade and frost. His stone hands offered little dexterity so the plants overtook them, although he hardly makes use of them.
Since he no longer needs to eat he has become much less savage and unpredictable, seeking only a peaceful and quiet twilight. Eventually he will be overtaken completely by rock, finishing his transition into a grand mountain.

This guys getting a little old for me, but i've always been critical of my art~
I could probably spend every penny in a bookstore; new or used. I know everything's digital and handy now but i still like physical reference titles and such.

reminds me in the best ways of froud's Giants which I inexplicably neglected to buy at a used bookstore a few years ago for the mere trifle of $18. I have not stopped regretting it.
great thematic story to go with it too.
