This character's coloration has a history, hah... He started out black because as a 14-ish year old I was always frustrated with people adhering to the DnD tropes of different dragon colors indicating their traits/goodness/etc, so I wanted to go against that. But his son is quite green in color, so he's morphed to more of a really dark color with olive or dark teal reflective qualities. The dark coloration still suits his role, though, since through much of the story he is elusive and feels shadowy yet spoken of as a great leader of sorts?
Whew, sorry for my ramble! I get carried away with Firebloods stuff far too easily...
