thinkin up another character/species to go with the sorta-story that Sunny, Jay and Kald are a part of. this character still needs a name, and their colours/design may be tweaked in the future

no idea what to call these guys/this one in particular. they’re a genderless race that basically turn into… weird tree/mushrooms when they die, which grow fruit that are basically the eggs of the next generation. fruit that produce young only occur once in each tree’s life.

the “eggs” start out with a thin, waxy outer layer that keep in the jelly-like innards. they are vulnerable at this stage, and many are victims to predators. the outer resin quickly hardens though, and soon becomes an effective protective shell. soon after, the fruits fall, and are gathered by members of the community and places in a rookery, where they will eventually hatch. each hatchling is unique, but younglings from the same tree recognize each other as siblings by scent. each member is basically it’s own life cycle being reincarnated over and over again into several individuals, with small mutations happening once in a while that allow evolution.

they have no reproduction/sex organs, so there are no males,females, etc.. homeworld members typically choose to not use gendered pronouns, and refer to each other as simply “you”, “they”, “their”, or simply “friend”. although some who have ventured away and accepted other cultures and decide they fit into a gender. this is mostly accepted

they are an intelligent race, and are family/community-oriented. they take care of each other, since they are not the largest of beings, the tallest members maybe reaching six feet

not particularly strong, their defenses are brightly hued flaps that frame the head, which push out and forward. not exactly threatening, but can help in making them appear bigger. they also have a very brightly coloured oral cavity which they flash to show they mean business. a gland within their tongues, when constricted by the tongue muscles, releases powerful digestive enzymes that border on being venomous into the mouth. when bitten by short but sharp canine teeth, these enzymes enter the bloodstream and quickly break down major organs and systems. they are immune to their own enzymes
