This horse is designed as the mount for a main character for personal project.

Originally I thought about making it grey horse, as you can see in the first version, but while researching horse coat patterns, I came across the appaloosa roan, in which the horse looked like it hard started to rust. I haven't seen a horse like that before, and decided that it would make a good fit for what I am going for.

The body type is based of the Oldenburger breed, which was used for war during the medieval period. The mane is inspired Icelandic horses and their glorious head of hair. As for the feathering, I like feathering and it fit the horse.

I ended up doing this drawing 3 times before getting the quality to a good enough level. I have never really drawn horses, so this was hard, but rewarding. Considering the circumstances, I am very satisfied with the level of this piece.
