Excerpt from A Tale of Two Badgers - Ch12

I took him by the paw and lead him into my bathroom. "Now, do you like bubbles?" I asked as I started drawing his bath. He shrugged. "Dunno, nevew had 'em in a bath befow that I can wemembew." "What were those evil bastards at VALTReC doing to you? Denying you the simpler pleasures in life like that. Well, you're in for a treat then, plus if you're still uncomfortable, you can hide under the bubbles a bit." I poured a capful of my favorite bubble bath into the tub. Lavender and jasmine, maybe a little girly, but it should do the trick.

As the tub filled, I stripped Brock of his filthy t-shirt and with a washcloth removed the largest chunks of breakfast from his face and arms. He didn't seem to mind, and in fact was more intrigued by the rising bubbles from the bath than anything else, reaching out tiny paws to grab at floaters and snapping at the few that got close to his face. "Bleah! Smews bettew than they taste..." He said after successfully catching one. I'd finished the preliminary cleanup of him, and the water was at just about the right level, so I stripped off his diaper (wet again, already?) and lifted him into the tub. "How's the water? Too hot, cold?" "Pewfect!"

I think the bubbles gave him a good sense of privacy as I bathed him, cause he genuinely seemed to enjoy the experience, playing with the bubbles and gigging as they popped. "Hey, Bella, wook!" He'd piled an armful of suds onto his head and given himself a bubble hairdo that would have made Albert Einstein proud. "Hmmm, seems to be missing something..." I scooped up a pawful of bubbles and attached it to the end of his muzzle, right on top of his nose. He went cross eyed trying to look at it, and sneezed mightily, dislodging most of his new do except for a patch of suds which now drooped under his chin.

"That's actually a good look for you!" I laughed as he snorted suds out of his nostrils. I grabbed my hand mirror from the vanity behind me and held it up to show him. He gave a start, and then chortled happily. "Yoo'w wight! Vewy distiguished, maybe I'll let it gwow." I'd given him a thorough scrubbing by this point, even between his toes, and the water was starting to get tepid. I stood him up and sluiced the last remaining bubbles from his fur.
