WIZARDS and WITCHES

While the amount of magic that’s found in mages and knights occurs naturally, the wizard’s story is not the same.

Wizards are unnatural offspring of two mage parents. The level of magic in their body is so dangerously high, that most wizards die of it before they are born.

The little percentage of that that is born, however, is required to be reported to the military and the king or queen of the land, as the raising of a wizard or a witch requires special care.

Already as teenagers, these kids can possess incredible power of ice or fire – commonly those that were born in winter gain the power of ice, and those that were born in summer gain the power of fire. They are called to the military at the age of 15, where they are taught how to control their powers properly, by other wizards and/or most powerful mages of the region.

Ice wizards are generally stronger than fire wizards, as their power enables them to do physical damage, forming a sword or any other weapon they can think of, with ice.

They are the most powerful in winter, when they can use their snowy environment in their advantage, as they can bend the snow to their will.

Unlike ice wizards, who are much more powerful during winter, fire wizards are not desired during summer, as everything around them is more flammable and dry, and a simple mistake or a missed target could easily cause a forest fire.

The wizards’ skills differ from one to other, depending mostly on their personality. It was noticed, that a wizard with a strong head and unbreakable will can be notably more powerful than the one without. Self-esteem is a very important part of being a wizard, as the one without it will sometimes be able to do barely more than skilful mage.

The most skilled wizard or witch will be able to do anything with their power, to the point of changing weather (for a short amount of time) and even their own form, taking a form of a beast instead.

Shapeshifting has been illegalized throughout many kingdoms, and can only be used with an official permit of a king or a queen.

A peculiar physical trait appears with all wizards, as their eyes are dull, dark and shine-less when they aren’t doing magic, but once they perform it, their irises lighten up immediately in bright blue or orange, depending on the type of a wizard.
