It's HERE!

bpanthress

Yaaaaay! My pendant is finally here! It took about 3 weeks to get here, but here it is, and it's incredible being able to hold something I made in my own hands! It's thicker than I expected, so the next one will be a bit thinner (and cheaper), and the edges weren't rounded nearly as much as I expected (which is awesome).

So now I have a startlingly heavy pendant to play with, and proof that I CAN print stuff out! Anyone want to buy a custom pendant?

I keep moving forward!

This is a 3d print? In metal?

That is correct. :-) If you go to shapeways.com you can see all the different materials something can be printed in. It's absolutely amazing!

I am aware metal can be 3d printed. I wonder- I guess the corrrect question is did you print it yourself or did you have a 3d printing service do it? I did not think commercial 3d metal printers were cheap enough for the general public to purchase yet. It's a Thundercats logo isn't it?

I had it printed at shapeways.com a printing service that is very affordable. :-) And no, a lot of folk think it's the thundercat's logo, but I drew that straight out of my head. I hadn't seen the thundercats sine I was a little kid when it played on Saturday mornings. LOL. But since a panther's head really doesn't have much variation in shape, I can see why it reminds so many people of it.

Interesting. One more question. What 3d program was it printed in? I still use Truespace 4.3. It's the prgram I modeled all my Poser props in.

I don't know what it was printed in, but I modeled it in Zbrush. :-)
