Throughout the many generations of goblins that have collected and harvested the dreaded fungus of the Splinter Edge Mountains, a natural immunity easily formed. But even with this natural immunity, the spore infections will still take hold over time. Once it occurs, the body begins to bloat and swell over the week as their stomach fills with spores. Unrecoverable except with the most powerful medical care, the final fate tends to end with the explosive rupturing of their overfilled body. Not a species to waste valuable resources on a doomed member, the goblins devised a new more efficient use for their doomed brethren. Stuffed till their maximum limit with psychotropic mushrooms, deadly spores and a a blistering cocktail of drugs, the bloated comrades are brought into combat. Pushed to insanity with the drugs running through their system, all the goblins can think about is swelling till the blow. Regardless of damage, limit, or even pain they will continue to push their bodies larger and larger. To help them in this desire, a crude pump system has been hooked up to their back. Upon the click of a detonator, a chemical catalyst floods their stomach. Literally nothing more than mushroom food on steroids, the spores in the stomach start to germinate and grow at a exponential rate. Within seconds the already bloated goblin will reach critical levels of pressure before detonating.

If that wasn't enough, the crafty goblins have devised ways to make that explosion even more powerful. Wrapped around their body is a network of spiked armor and straps designed to break and separate with the explosion. working as impromptu shrapnel, the spikes and plates pepper the surrounding area. Of course that isn't enough by itself. Not known for their sanitary nature, those same infectious spores cover the goblins bodies from years of farming mushrooms. Even a nick from one of the spore dusted spikes is enough to start a minor infection in those that aren't immune. Thus the foes of the goblins find themselves facing charging berserkers intent on blowing themselves up as living bombs. ALthough it doesn't always work in the goblins favors. Sometimes the pressure obsessed fanatics pull the trigger a little bit too early.....
