'I made you something'

bluebones

It had been a whole 6 months since Fastener left her warren and joined the Parkes family, and she loved every second of it. Food was always present whenever she got hungry, she didn't have to worry about tyrannical Nidorinos’ constantly looming over her for every second of the day, and best of all she finally had both good friends and a name of her very own, she was very pleased with her life.

One day she decided to go out and play with one of the many toys that were scattered around the house for her and her friends, though not really knowing that she was being watched.

Razzle, her trainer’s Quilava, was watching her while he hid himself behind a big plotted plant on the porch. He had something clutched in his paws, something that he really wanted to share with her. He smiled meekly while looking at the object in his paws and then starts to walk over to Fastener to greet her, but then he stops. Halfway there he suddenly becomes nervous, his heart was beating twice as fast than before and the pads on his paws become drenched with sweat. He can’t do this, not now, nor anytime today. He knows that he has to get away quickly.

He turns to make a hasty retreat, but doesn't get very far, as Fastener notices him and calls out his name. In that moment, Razzle froze and became stiff, he felt as if his heart had dropped to the very bottom of his body. He was too afraid to even turn around and face her.

“Hey Razz, how long ‘you been standin’ there? You wanna tussle ‘round a bit or play tag?”

She asked as she bounced from side to side in a play bow gesture while wiggling her chunky body. But Razzle didn’t answer, instead he just jerked his head lower and raised his shoulders, trying his best to avoid looking at her.

“What’s wrong? Didn’t you hear me?”

Razzle muttered a quiet, nearly inaudible reply.

“What now?”

He mutters again, but this time with a nervous, high pitched squeal.

“Um, alright then…Well, I’m gonna go back to playin’ now, guess I’ll talk to you later when you ain’t bein’ weird.”

She starts to walk back the other direction, and this quickly brings Razzle out of his shell.

“N-NO WAIT!”

He shouts.

“What? What happened?!”

“H-Here…I-I made this for you.”

He reveals to her the object he’s been holding; a collar made out of dazzling, freshly picked daisies covered in dew that glistened splendidly in the sun like tiny diamonds.

Fastener’s eyes grew wide and seemed to sparkle just as the tiny drops of dew did.

“I remember when we first met, and I saw how much you liked Daises, so I made this for you. I made a bunch of them, but this was the only one that looked decent enough…Robyn showed me how to make them and I've been practicing for 3 months.”

He said to her as he dangled the collar on one of his claws.

“Razz, it’s beautiful!”

“Not really, I messed up on part of it.”

“No, really, it’s beautiful!
Like little crystals or…or…”

“Like you…”
He mumbled under his breath without thinking.

“What?”

“W-WHAT? N-No I mean...I…”

“Razz, you think I’m beautiful?”

He hesitates for a moment, but then shamefully holds his head low and replies.

“…Yes…I think you’re pretty…Really pretty. And I like you a lot.”

He was very embarrassed. He thought that she would laugh at him or be disgusted by him.

How could a gorgeous, full bred Pokémon like her share the same feelings for an ugly mongrel like him?

At least, that’s how he thought of the whole situation, but to his surprise, Fastener did something completely different.

“Is that so, now? Well you know what?
I think you’re handsome. Really handsome, and I like you too.”

“Really, You--do?”
“Sure do, when I first saw you I knew you were different from other Pokémon that I’ve ever seen, you’re really cool, and a lot of fun to be around. And like I said before, I think you’re good lookin’ too.”

As she speaks to him he fails to notice that she’s been slowly inching closer to him.

And before he could say anything else, she nuzzles him right on his nose.

He becomes so excited from the nuzzling that his entire disposition changes; he stops slouching shyly and sits up straight, his face turned red from blushing, his leg kicks up and down like a Growlithe getting its belly scratched and the open pores on his body shoot out small bursts of flames. It was all too much for him and topples over, giggling with a dopey look of satisfaction on his face.

“Thank you for the gift, Razz. It’s really nice.”

She said to him as she put on her new flower collar.

“Uh-huh. You’re welcome.”
He slurred his sentence.

But then something quickly came into his mind, a question he felt really needed to be asked.

“Hey Fastener, I know it’s been a few months and everything, but I feel like I need to ask you again…You’re gonna stay, right, with us...with me?”

“You beat me in that battle fair ‘n square didn’t you?
And I got myself a Pokeball of my own now, So I don’t think I’ll be goin’ anywhere anytime soon. Besides, I like everyone, and you don’t run off on people you consider family, right?”

She extends her arm, offering him her paw, and Razzle extends his arm, allowing his own massive paw to gently touch with hers.

“Right.”
He responded with a soft smile.

Aww, a sappy little love story between everyone's favorite Typhlosion mutt and Nidoqueen when they were just itty bitty beebies!

There was actually another picture before this one, but yeah, too lazy to draw it, so unfortunately that one comes later.
I really am enjoying these little snippet drawing into my characters' pasts, it's way more fun than I had imagined it'd be.

Oh, and fun little fact; Razzle can still make those Daisy collars.
but often throws them away or eats them to avoid having others (aside from Fastener) make fun of him.
though, that's what he thinks...for in reality no one in there right mind would ever actually laugh at something with a constant shitty temper and claws that can decapitate a human head with one quick swipe.
