Unseeing Masks by BloodhoundOmega

Unseeing Masks

BloodhoundOmega

After my last commission I felt the urge to draw something for myself again! :D I kept thinking about my Unseeing and how I used to give them the same type of mask when I drew them. I became upset about my lack of creativity in that matter as an Unseeing’s mask is individual and unique. It functions as a recognizable face and goes way further than that!

The masks can be simple, complicated, crude, delicate, playful, childish, mysterious, twisted…

They can be made from wood, bones, skin, cloth, scales, metal, even stone.

The combination of all of the above adds to an Unseeing’s unique appearance and says more about it than its natural face ever could.

There are no real “rules” for an Unseeing when it comes to create its mask and they change and develop along with their carrier. A pup’s mask can be exaggerated and rough around the edges; an adolescent one’s might aim to impress, while the mask of a matriarch may be shabby and broken and yet more majestic than any crown.

The doodles also show that the grades of self-mutilation can be different. Some Hounds will cut off their ears and “tentacles” almost down to the stub, others will leave them pertruding behind their masks. This, too, is an individual choice.

I love how disturbing, beautiful or adoreable they are. So many versions, so different and still thyey have something in common.
I'm in awe, again, you know how to hit the right spots! (art, art xD)

If they cannot see, how do they recognize each others' masks?

They do not need to see due to strongly developed extrasensory skills. :)
