Sharp as dicks

This sword has a story. My grandfather spent the majority of world war 2 as a POW. He went through an incredible ordeal. He was doing forced labor building a railroad to Nagasaki when it was hit with the bomb. When he finally got on a train to go home, it eventually pulled up next to a train carrying Japanese military the other direction. The window directly across from his was open and a Japanese officer had leaned his sword, a family heirloom that might have been already been an antique back then, up against the window. He waited till the trains slowly started to move and then waited a little more. At the last possible second he reached through both windows and grabbed the sword and pulled it through into his train. He later felt bad about it but after spending most of the war as a prisoner under terrible conditions he wasn't really thinking that clearly at the time. He made a bit of an effort to find out who the officer might have been and if he could somehow return it to the family, I'm sure he would've, but it was too many years later and he was unable to find out where the sword came from. It's super old, I think we got it dated to 1790. The folded steel feels incredible in your hand. The shark skin grip sticks to your hand and feels like it is gripping you as hard as you're gripping it. It's an amazing piece of history.

In the eventual zombie apocalypse this will be my weapon.
